Mahindra & Mahindra is getting ready to take its three-wheeler business to the stock market. The companys CEO, Anish Shah said this during a talk at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2026. Mahindra & Mahindras electric three-wheeler business is doing well. It is almost ready to be, on its own.

Mahindra & Mahindras electric three-wheeler business could be listed on the stock market by 2027. This will help Mahindra & Mahindras electric three-wheeler business get the money it needs to grow and focus on what it does which is making electric three-wheel vehicles for short trips.

Strategic Rationale for Listing

Shah said that making the electric three-wheeler division a company and listing it would be good for the people who own shares in the company. It would also give the division the money it needs to grow in a part of the electric vehicle market that is getting bigger quickly.

Electric three-wheelers are becoming very popular in India and other countries that are growing fast. This is because they are cheap to run governments are supporting them. They are perfect for short deliveries, in cities.

Mahindras electric three-wheeler division is already doing well in this area. This means it could grow more on its own outside of the main companys other businesses.

Electric vehicles make up a part of Mahindras total sales, which is around 7 percent.. Shah thinks this number will go up a lot as they make more electric vehicles and people start buying them more. They are planning to do a public offering, which will help them get more money to make more electric three-wheelers come up with new products and sell them in more places. This will help the electric three-wheeler business compete better with companies that make electric vehicles in India and around the world. The electric vehicle business will get stronger. Be able to do more things because of this. Electric vehicles, from Mahindra will become more popular as time goes on.

Market Context and EV Growth

Mahindra is really serious about mobility. This is a part of what they want to do in the long run. They are putting money into making their vehicles electric. This includes cars like SUVs and also things like three-wheelers and trucks. The government is helping out with rules to get more people to buy electric vehicles. Some people who watch the industry say that electric three-wheelers are a good bet in India. This is because companies that do ride-hailing and delivery want vehicles that do not cost a lot and do not make pollution. Mahindra is doing this to be a player, in electric mobility. Electric mobility is what Mahindra is focusing on.

Shah said something at Davos. People who invest money are really interested in electric vehicle companies in India and around the world. Many car and technology companies are working on energy vehicles and battery technology. If this company lists on the stock market it will show car makers that they can make money by separating their electric vehicle businesses. This is a sign that the electric vehicle industry, in India is growing up and people are taking it seriously. Electric vehicles are becoming a thing and India is a part of it.

Outlook

If the IPO proceeds as projected, Mahindra’s electric three-wheeler arm would join a growing roster of EV-related businesses tapping capital markets to support rapid expansion. The move is also consistent with Shah’s broader corporate focus on scaling growth gems within Mahindra’s diversified portfolio while enhancing competitiveness in the global EV landscape.
