o9 Solutions Targets India and Asia as Its Next Growth Engine

o9 Solutions, an AI-first enterprise software company behind the “Digital Brain” platform, has announced a strategic pivot, setting its sights on India and other Asian markets as its next big growth drivers. The decision by the historically North America- and Europe-anchored company also reflects the rapid digitization of supply chains across Asia, and the broader industry shift towards AI-driven planning and decision-making.

Founded to change how integrated business planning is done, o9 has spent a decade building an AI-driven platform that helps large enterprises forecast demand, optimize inventory, and align commercial and supply-chain decisions. The product’s technology stack-thought of by leadership as a “digital brain”-combines large-scale data modeling, probabilistic forecasting, and prescriptive optimization to turn fragmented enterprise data into actionable plans. A variety of recognition from industry analysts and awards has helped validate the platform’s enterprise credentials.

Why Asia now? The rationale is straightforward: Asia is where global manufacturing, consumption and logistics growth meet. India, in particular, has seen explosive uptake of cloud services, stronger enterprise IT budgets and a wave of manufacturers and retailers investing in modern planning systems. To o9, these tailwinds create a large addressable market for solutions that reduce supply-chain slippage, minimize stockouts and improve gross margins through better forecasting and scenario planning.

o9’s co-founder and CEO, Chakri Gottemukkala, has been vocal about AI’s role in reshaping enterprise decision-making. At recent industry roundtables and forums, he argued that generative and agentic AI can automate short-term firefighting while elevating strategic planning-effectively turning tribal knowledge into codified, repeatable processes. That vision is central to o9’s push into markets where manual planning still dominates and margins can be significantly improved by automation.

The Asia push at the company is both strategic and tactical. o9 is expanding its local go-to-market footprint, investing in regional partnerships, and adapting product modules to address country-specific pain points-from fragmented retail networks to uneven data quality across supply chains. Local partnerships, channel plays, and domain specialists will be critical to accelerate customer wins in markets like India, Southeast Asia, and parts of East Asia.

The promise for prospective enterprise customers is compelling: quicker end-to-end planning cycles, improved service levels, lower working capital, and improved alignment between commercial and supply functions. Certainly, early adopters in Asia that modernize planning report outsized benefits, often not just operationally but in product availability and customer satisfaction that, in turn, protect revenue growth.

o9 Solutions But the path has its challenges. Selling complex B2B platforms in Asia means customization to local procurement cycles, proof of ROI in shorter timelines, and filling gaps in talent for implementation and change management. Competing with well-established regional players and convincing conservative teams to move from spreadsheets to AI models will need strong local success stories and proof points. The Economic Times For o9, growth in Asia might also deepen its product roadmap: exposure to diverse manufacturing and retail models will drive new algorithms, modular solutions for mid-market companies, and packages that reduce implementation time and cost.

These product innovations could, in turn, be exported back to other geographies-a two-way flow of learning that often accelerates global product maturity. o9 Solutions +1 From an ecosystem perspective, o9’s expansion is a signal for systems integrators, implementation partners, analytics vendors, and startup specialists in Asia. There will be demand for domain expertise (CPG, auto, hi-tech), data engineering services, and change-management capabilities to ensure deployments deliver promised outcomes. The Economic Times In all, o9 Solutions’ pivot to India and wider Asia is a well-timed bet on the region’s digitalisation trajectory. If the company can pair its sophisticated AI platform with local execution muscle and strong ROI proof points, Asia could become a significant chapter in o9’s next growth story-one that helps regional manufacturers and retailers move from reactive firefighting to truly predictive and prescriptive planning.
