Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg says that Boeing is making progress. Boeing still has a lot of work to do. He talked about this when people were still closely watching what Boeing is doing and how Boeing operates. Ortberg said that Boeing needs to regain peoples trust make safety practices, at Boeing better and make sure Boeing does things all the time. He said this will not happen quickly it will take a time and Boeing will have to keep working hard at it until the end of 2026 and even after that.

Boeing is going through a tough time. The company has a lot of problems like issues with making things worries about the quality of their products pressure from people who make rules and damage to their reputation. Ortberg became the CEO at an important time for Boeing. He says that Boeing cannot fix all of its problems quickly. Ortberg thinks that Boeing needs to do more than just fix a few problems. Boeing needs to fix the problems that are affecting how they design things make things and manage the company. Boeing has to make a lot of changes, to how the company works, including engineering, production and management processes. Boeing and Ortberg have a lot of work to do to fix Boeing.

The main thing that Ortberg is focusing on is making sure Boeing does things correctly. He wants the company to slow down when it needs to and make sure the planes are quality rather than just making a lot of them. Safety is very important to him. He wants to make sure it is part of everything Boeing does when making planes.

This is different from what Boeing did when they were in a hurry to deliver planes and sometimes did not check everything as carefully as they should have. Ortberg says that it is more important for Boeing to make sure the people who regulate the company the airlines that buy the planes and the people who fly on them trust Boeing again. This is more important to him, than making a lot of money now. Boeing and Ortberg are working on this.

The company Boeing is trying to change things and one big part of that is the way people work together. Ortberg says that Boeing needs to make sure the engineers and the people who actually build the planes feel like they can speak up when they see something. They should not be afraid of getting in trouble. He wants to make it clear who is in charge of what and make sure that decisions are made in a way that everyone can see especially when it comes to safety. Inside the company they are trying to get the managers and the production teams to talk to each other better so that small problems do not become ones. Boeing is doing this to make sure everyone, at Boeing works together.

Boeing is still getting back on its feet when it comes to money. People still want to buy Boeings aircraft and that is good news. A lot of people are flying again so that helps Boeing too.. Boeing has some problems to deal with. It costs Boeing a lot of money to make these planes and getting the parts it needs is hard. Sometimes Boeing cannot deliver the planes on time. The person, in charge Ortberg says that Boeing needs to make some changes before it can make a lot of money again. Boeing needs to make sure it is making planes and that everything is working well before it can try to grow really fast. Boeings cash flow and margins will get better. That will take some time.

The defense and space segments make things more complicated. Boeing is still having trouble getting some defense contracts done right. This has hurt how much money they make. The person in charge Ortberg says that they need to be better, at managing risks and planning programs in a realistic way to avoid these problems. He thinks it is very important to learn from the mistakes they made in the past so they do not happen again with the defense and space segments. Boeing and the defense and space segments need to do a job.

The market is not getting too excited about what Ortberg said. People who invest in Boeing like that Ortberg’s being honest and saying that there is still a lot of work to be done. However some of these investors are still worried that Boeing is not going to get on track very quickly. Boeings future depends on the company doing a job for a long time not just on what the leaders say or who is, in charge of Boeing. The people who watch Boeing closely think that the company needs to show it can get things done quarter after quarter.

Ortberg is looking at 2026 as a year to build a base for Boeing. He does not think this will be a year to celebrate. Ortberg says we can expect to see some improvements.. He has told us not to expect big changes to happen all of a sudden. What is most important, to Ortberg is that Boeing becomes an more reliable company. Boeing needs to be a company that can keep growing without sacrificing safety or quality. Ortberg wants Boeing to be a company that people can trust.

In summary, Kelly Ortberg’s message is clear: Boeing is moving in the right direction, but the turnaround is far from complete. The coming months will test whether the company can translate leadership intent into durable operational excellence. For Boeing, success will ultimately be measured not just by financial recovery, but by its ability to regain the confidence of regulators, customers, and the flying public.
